Social Security and Medicare is already bankrupt because any surplus is already spent – there is nothing there except the federal and state government’s promises to pay. If you need $40,000 to live during your retirement years then you will need $2,000,000 in tax free interest cash to support yourself at today’s interest rates. Please, don’t forget that if your 2 million is in a 401k your will be taxed double because a 401k is tax deferred and not tax free. In you senior years you will need to pay your deferred tax on you principal 401k amount and additional taxes on any interest, dividend, or stock sale. Wake up America your politicians and bureaucrats have squandered you Social Security inheritance and if you are relying on SSI and Medicare – you too are bankrupt.
