Now the Obama administration is realizing that they have doomed the American society with their trillion dollar debt and must legislate a VAT tax, to tax away even the costs of American businesses and the hard costs of the necessities of the American citizens.

THERE SHOULD BE A NEW 401K PLAN TO PAY OFF YOUR HOME

 

I think that one of the best strategies for the coming years is to amend the 401k rules and allow taxpayers to use their 401 k money to pay of their home. They could use their own deduction and any matching funds from their employer and use this contribution to pay off their mortgage or mortgages. I would further add to the new law that you’re once in a lifetime tax deduction for your home is still valid, so that the 401k money you use to pay off your home is tax free and not just tax deferred.

 

 Statistics have proven over and over that the most profitable investment most Americans make is the investment they make in their own personal residence. Since the Federal Reserve is, and has been, keep interest rate artificially low senior citizens can not earn any profit on their retirement cash. Although the low interest rate is beneficial for the majority of younger people those on a fixed income are being hurt badly. If we would allow the interest rates to float at market value but allow the younger people to pay off their house note faster and build tax free equity everyone will benefit.

 

As it stands now Wall Street stocks and bonds have little competition for the 401k funds, so we have too much money chasing to few stocks and bonds. This is driving the Dow Jones up to unrealistic highs based solely on speculation and not equity enhancement.

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE IN EVERGREEN COLORADO REAL ESTATE

 

The downturn in the economy has wreaked havoc with many consumers.  Unemployment claims continue to rise and fall each week with many businesses still laying people off.   For those people who have jobs they have been saving their money not knowing whether or not they will be next on the chopping block.

 

February 2009 saw the lowest Consumer Confidence report ever. Just this week a new report has come out citing Consumer Confidence maybe on the rise getting to over 70 percent.  The report also cites that consumers may, in fact, be shopping again.  Lower gas prices at the pump have also helped to put more money in people’s pockets. 

 

Some consumers are contemplating purchasing a new car or a new home within the next six months.  This is good news for car manufacturers and real estate agents.  The stock market seemed to like what it heard because it rallied on all this positive news.

 

Have we turned the so-called corner, will we see jobs increase with more and more people being able to get off unemployment and feel whole again?  I feel like we are on a seesaw – one day the news sounds great and the recession is over – the next –well maybe not so fast.

 

I do believe in the trickle down effect which is, taxes need to be reduced and excessive spending needs to stop.    When less money is taken out of people’s paychecks and more money is put into people’s pockets this gives them buying power.  With this buying power more jobs are created and more people are hired, thus the cycle continues with the economy on the road to recovery.

You hear it on TV by the talking heads and see it on magazine covers that the Recession is over, but is that true?. Layoffs have slowed since many businesses have cut as many jobs as they can, and the stock market is rising also signaling a possible recovery around the bend.  Many economists are changing their theory and now saying things seem to be getting better or leveling off with the economy beginning to grow again in the third quarter, but that unemployment will continue to rise as a lagging indicator.

Wholesale prices rose fueled by higher gas prices at the pump as well as higher food prices at the grocery stores

 

Some homebuilders have started building again.  Housing starts and permits have risen for a second month possibly showing some signs of a recovery.   The Commerce Department reported last Friday, July 31, 2009 that the housing market is starting to stabilize with housing starts rising to 3.6%.  Of course this is great news for those of us who want to purchase a new home.

The Federal Congress and the administration now want to require any home built before today to have an energy label that defines the energy efficiency of any building that is up for sale.

 

To get the home inspected will cost money – money many people do not have in these tough economic times. All these homes were built to the current building codes at the time and now your government wants to outlaw many homes.
