Today there are two articles about Colorado Real Estate one in the Grand Junction Free Press and one in the Colorado Springs Gazette. The article in the Free Press laments that the real estate rental market and home sales market are down while the Gazette reports that the Springs is showing signs of life as we head into the new year. Every day I read article from the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, or the Denver Business Journal and on any one day you can find an expert that decries the fact that there is no end in site while another rejoices over the booming housing market just ahead.

MONEY TALKS FOR EVERGREEN COLORADO REAL ESTATE 

It’s an old expression that “money talks” but what is money saying to us these days? I am convinced that money is telling us that it feels sick. The value of the dollar is slipping against almost all other world wide currencies, and the most critical factor for any money – confidence – is quickly disappearing. Last week Secretary Geitner was almost laughed off the stage in China when he said that the dollar was strong and China’s dollar based assets are safe. The greatest laugher erupted when Geitner told the Chinese that the Obama administration “believed in a strong dollar.”

You see, the money itself is telling the world that the present administration wants to inflate the dollar tremendously to pay for all its irresponsible spending. Geitner thought that the Chinese were too stupid to know how silly and foolish his policies are, and was subsequently laughed off the stage. China has already proposed that the IMF create its own currency to replace the dollar, and China is looking seriously into creating their own government currency. Foreign economists feel that the foolish fiscal policies of the current administration will cause upheaval in the global markets, and this can easily be avoided if the world just drops the dollar standard and lets the Americans go bankrupt by themselves. It’s becoming abundantly clear that Geitner has no credibility abroad. To treat the Chinese as economically ignorant is the height of arrogance and we, as Americans, will pay a high price for presuming that foreign countries don’t know how foolish our economic policies are.
