One of the major problems with our economic society is that we are a debt-based economy. The way we create money is for a bank to hold a 10% cash reserve and then to loan out the other 90% of the loan balance. This is called fractional reserve lending and it is the way money is created in America. So if you apply for a $100.000 loan the bank needs to have $10,000 in cash and then they create the $90,000 to close your loan. In effect they just created $90,000.

 

If you then deposit the proceeds from your loan into the bank then they can use the $100,000 you deposit from your loan to write a loan for $1,000,000; all this on a cash deposit of $10,000. If you were then to deposit the million in the banking system they can now loan out 10 million, again all they need to do is to keep a 10% reserve.

 

The major problem arises when you calculate the total cost of the loan including the interest. The $100,000 loan above will have a total cost $215,837 for a 30 year fixed mortgage loan at 6%. But the bank only created $90,000 in new money. Where will the other $125,837 come from? There is not enough money in the economy to pay off the loan. Hence, the liquidity crisis we are currently experiencing worldwide.

BARACK “GAZILLION” OBAMA

The White House is already working on the budget for the next fiscal year and President Obama wants to make some basic changes in the way business is done in Washington. He instructed his budget director to contact the Congressional Budget office and to add the following words to their vocabulary: ananillion,  bajillion, bazillion, dillion, gadzillion, gagillion, gajillion, godzillion, gonillion, grillion, hojillion, julillion, kabillion, kajillion, katrillion, killion, robillion, skillion, squillion, and umptillion. These words will be instramental to an understanding of next years budget, and the new tax policies for the wealthest citizens among us.

The President of change also ask for some input with regards to the matter of changing the title of the budget director to either the zillion czar, the jillion czar, or the gazillion czar. Apparently, the change the President was takling about during the campaign is that there will be no change left in your pocket or purse. Now that’s change this administration can believe in.

President Obama is also considering a $140,000 surtax on every abortion in America, because anyone who kills a child conceived in the USA must assume that child’s tax liability. This tax must be a graduated tax which will increase as the government and congress spend and borrow even more money.

The President is asking China, the Saudis, and all the oil producing nations to cut back on their expenses, ride their bikes to work, and turn off their electric and air conditioning because he will be sending them a Gazillion dollare of new debt, and wants to make sure they will have the funds he needs. He and Pellosi are looking into taxing Kim Jong Il’s nuclear program in Norht Korea, because if you tax something you will get far less of it, and perhaps even eliminate it.

I am so sick of the national media telling me how smart every politician is. George Bush graduated for Yale and Harvard Business School, Hilary Clinton is the smartest women who ever lived, Obama is another Harvard Graduate and none of them seems to have the common sense of a child.

                  

Bush ran us into the banking melt down, Hilary is giving Pakistan millions upon millions of our hard earned dollars just like Bush did with Musharraf, Obama is spending your money like its water, refuses to drill for oil, is taking over and destroying our auto and banking industry, and has annexed our southern border to the drug cartels. The last thing that America needs is another smart politician. What we need is good old fashioned common sense.

One of the major problems with the housing industry is that there is no private money flowing into the secondary mortgage market. When Wall Street devised this derivative scheme where they sold B paper loans all over the world, they destroyer all the confidence that world wide investors had in Wall Street investment products – especially mortgages. One of the reasons that the TARP money was so critical was to restore the confidence of the Saudi and Chinese investors in the US economy. If these two groups sell off their American assets the Government will have to stop spending money it doesn’t have.

 

Most of the treasure bills that the government uses to finance its spending spree are bought by the Saudi and Chinese governments. So when Wall Street sold these foreign investors bogus mortgage bonds, they wanted to cash out unless the tax payers bailed them out. However, even now that the US citizen is guaranteeing their investments; they are still not investing new money into the US economy. The only substantial money investor in the secondary mortgage market is the Federal Government.

 

So how does the Fed get the money to invest in the mortgage market, since it is bankrupt, you might ask? They print it! Of coarse, in the long run this will cause hyper inflation, and then the government can pay off it’s debt with inflated dollars which will have much less value than today’s dollars. But you too can benefit from this situation. If you bought a home now that the interest rates are at historic lows, and then paid the money back with inflated dollars you will profit greatly.

GIVING A DAMN ABOUT GREENBACK DOLLARS

 

Our whole economy is a debt based economy, run by the Federal Reserve System. The Federal Reserve is not Federal, in that it is not a government but private bank, and it has no reserves but only the ability to create money out of nothing.

                    

Abraham Lincoln faced many of the same problems we have today, with large debt to pay for the Civil War. The bankers tried to hold him, and the tax payers hostage, by demanding 24-24 % interest on a reserve that we know now did not exists. You see, these bankers were just going to create the money by covering the checks written against their high interest loans. Lincoln realized what they were doing and beat them at their own game. He just created the money himself, so that the tax payers did not own anyone interest. He printed “Greenback Dollars” and used them to pay the governments bills. In truth the constitution only gives the government the right to mint money, but your politicians have delegated this solemn right to the private banks.

 

Only the Government can create legal tender, and it is time we dispensed with most of the national debt by dissolving the Federal Reserve and redeeming the right of “we the people” to control the legal tender in the USA. As you know, there is no longer any silver or gold reserve behind the money. The only reason it has value is that it has the “full faith and credit” of the US government – we just don’t need the Federal Reserve and their interest payments to run our economy.

 

The major problem is that our Federal Reserve System causes debt. Every time the government needs extra money we need to borrow it from Bernake and company, and then pay him interest. WHY? Let’s just print the money ourselves and cut out the Fed’s interest, or pay the interest to ourselves, and use the proceeds to rebuild our infra-structure. As long as we keep the current system we have a fatal flaw in our economic system that will continue to cause economic recessions.

Stock or fund share prices are more important than profits and dividends, so little effort is spent growing the business and the company is consumed with manipulating the stock market prices of their shares.

 

Hence, Bernie Madoff can run a ponzi scheme for 30 years and nobody notices. In fact, he is one of the darlings of the financial news shows, and all the pundits are enamored with his personae and apparent success. None of these “analysts” ever did their homework and checked the books. Human beings are deceitful and selfish by nature and when left to themselves, will find every reason under heaven why it’s OK to help themselves to your money. A TIME OF RE-THINKING

 

We all like the status quo, we all get complacent; we all like to just settle back into the same old solutions without having to make any serious changes. The world, in which we live, has programmed us with its set of solutions for getting through life, and we often accept the common fare without analyzing it ourselves, and thinking it through.

 

We accept the world’s criteria for establishing our worth in our society, and strive to achieve the goals it sets for us, in hopes that we will be considered successful. Our society has programmed us to get a job and immediately head out and charge a new car or two, sign up for a 30 year mortgage, and furnish the house with the credit card. All this on top of a student loan that amounts to more than our grandparents saved in a lifetime of hard work.

 

I love baseball, and played a lot of baseball when I was younger. Many times I have watched my team in the playoffs or World Series, and they just stopped playing heads up ball – they started to ignore the basics. They forgot the fundamentals that got them to the winners circle. Today it’s time to re-think our basic financial strategy and get back to the basics.

 

Let’s start working our way through college and not charging it. When we graduate let’s buy a car that is 5 years old with 40k miles on it and not that brand new car. And let’s buy a house that we can easily afford, and avoid renting. Now, let’s not contribute to our 401k at work until our house is paid for. The very best investment anyone could have made in the last 10 years, actually the last 100 years, would have been to have paid off their home. Not only would you have not been foreclosed, but you would sleep easy and enjoyed peace of mind.

WHAT KIND OF MORTGAGE COMPANY IS DISCOUNT MORTGAGE SERVICES

 

Several years ago, when we would have closings for our Real Estate and Construction businesses, we would receive the HUD closing statements which listed the fees that were being charged to the buyers. The cost of the loans were running into thousands of dollars and we knew that the banks and mortgage companies were porking it up. So we decided to start a mortgage company that will not charge any fee that was not absolutely necessary to book and close the loan.

 

What we discovered is that it is very difficult to separate out legitimate fees from junk fees without understanding the entire loan process and the fundamental mathematics behind all loans. People like Ditech and Lending Tree advertise no closing costs, or costs of only $300.00, but then they raise the interest rate you pay for the next 30 years to cover the closing costs. The result is that your closing costs, in the form of a 1/8 % increase in your interest rate, will cost you thousands of dollars over the term of the loan.

 

When they raise your rate by 1/8 % the mortgage company gets a back end commission of an additional 1% of the loan amount. So then a 300,000 mortgage will pay an additional $3000.00 commission that Ditech uses for your closing costs. Additionally, please note, that all the online lenders are already 1-1 ¼ % higher than DISCOUNT MORTGAGES SERVICES already.

 

The same is true of the processing fee. All banks and mortgage companies charge a fee to perform all the clerical and legal paper work that is required to process a loan. The fee should be about $700.00 - $1000.00, depending on the circumstances of the loan. All banks and mortgage companies require a Title policy, which will insure you and your lender against claims against you Real Estate Title. The closing company is a business and must charge to prepare and close all the title documents, this is a necessary cost.

 

Some of the problems arise when any, or all of these fees, are inflated to extract more dollars from an unsuspecting client. Most Real Estate Agents are ill-equipped to advise their clients. Builders are notorious for inflating every item on the closing statement and recouping the costs of their Free Incentives. That is why they require you to book a loan with their mortgage provider, and use their title company if you want the “Free Incentives.”

What you need is a mortgage company you can trust, since you must look at the entire loan package to evaluate the costs; otherwise the excessive fees will be hidden somewhere or added into a legitimate fee.
