LESS WORSE IS NOW BETTER

 

The latest trend in reporting the state of our national and local economies is that they are less worst. They tell us that unemployment is not down as much as they expected, or consumer spending is better than predicted with seasonal adjustments of course, or the Real Estate sales were higher than last year only the increase was due to foreclosure sales, or the mortgage rates are historically low only because demand is so low. The constant drone is that we are in recession and no government program will work – only time will fix our economy.

 

I suppose there is a lot of truth in these reports but I am really starving for some good news. The oil business could be booming if we would only let it go. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone would extol all the benefits of how the American oil business could get us free of foreign oil in 3 years, or how we could take back American manufacturing, or how we could again capture the digital manufacturing market, or how we can become the technical support center of the world again if only we could level the playing field and let our industry go free to compete fairly?

The latest scheme that the Federal Government is subscribing to is the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) which will act as a global Federal Reserve. abdicated to it, to create and coin US currency. The Bank for International Settlements or BIS as it is called is also a private company owned by its private member banks.

Your government just spent 11 trillion dollars and put it on your credit card. Let’s see, this is what one trillion looks like –$1,000,000,000,000.00. It’s hard to comprehend how much money this really is. Additionally, Obama has spent 11 times this amount, not including interest, in 2 months. If you stacked all the dollar bills for only one trillion the stack would be 68,000 miles high or 1/3 the distance to the moon. Eleven trillion would get you to the moon and back just about two times. This spending is truly out of this world.

 

I’m sorry to tell you this but your Uncle Sam is bankrupt, destitute, and penniless. Every penny of income will go just to the interest and still we will have to borrow more money to pay all the interest. And what have we gotten for all this spending? American is number 49th in education in the world. High tech companies are hiring graduates from Sweden, Norway, India, and China because American graduates are not qualified.

 

All of the significant inventions in the last 20 years were developed by American companies, but we could not manufacture any of these products because we are no longer able to compete with foreign manufactures. We could not compete on the service level either, unless we outsourced the engineering, the software and the support. Now we can’t compete on the research and development of new concepts and ideas without the educated brain power from overseas. Maybe it’s time we fired our Uncle Sam and returned to the basic principles that America was founded on. THE INFLATION TAX

 

One of the most insidious taxes that Americans are forced to pay is the inflation tax. The inflation tax is when the value of our money slowly but steadily loses its value over time. It’s as if there is an embezzler juggling your personal books every day and steeling 10 to 12% of your income and savings. You hardly notice the loss, but you continually get frustrated with your finances, because no matter how well you do financially you can never seem to get ahead. MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR EVERGREEN COLORADO REAL ESTATE

 

The first question most people ask when they are interested in a home is how much is the monthly payment. The conventional wisdom is to quote what is known in the EVERGREEN COLORADO REAL ESTATE market as PITI. This stands for Principal, Interest, Taxes, and Insurance. Today, I would just like to give You an idea of what a home would cost at different loan amounts. Please keep in mind that you will need to put down at least 20% in cash or your payment will be more because you will pay mortgage or FHA insurance premiums.        

 

Today’s rates are at 5% for a 30 fixed loan so:

Although I have guesstimated the taxes and insurance, these figures will give you a good idea of the monthly carrying costs. Additionally, you can deduct the Interest and Taxes from you Federal and State income taxes. Since for the first 10 years you will pay very little principal, you can take the P& I figure and about 2/3 of the taxes and insurance and deduct it on your schedule “A” income tax form. You will save approximately the percentage of your take bracket rate of you payment. For example, if your income is $70,000.00 a year, your payment is $2000.00 a month, and you are in the 29% tax Bracket you will save $580.00 a month. This will be more if you have a state income tax. The result will be an after tax house payment of $1420.00 each month. We are not tax accountants but you can do math yourself with your personal income and income tax rate.

The word is now getting out that all the talking heads on the money shows are deceiving the public into buying stocks just so that they and their guests profit, not because they have good fundamentals and great potential. The big controversy between Jon Stewert and Cramer has revealed the dirty secret that reality has already revealed –  most stocks are actually poor investments. If we apply common sense to the stock investment equation we will see that most stocks sell for 10X or more earnings, with many stocks selling for much more. That means, that at the present cost, it will take 10 years or more to break even on a stock purchase. If the only hope of profit for the next ten years is for the stock price to go up, then Your are just speculating on Wall Street. The controversy between Cramer and Stewert, now demonstrates that like the casinos in Vegas the odds are stacked against You.

                                                                  

The other secret that all the pretty boys and girls on the TV don’t tell you is that the 401k phenomena is what is keeping the Stock market from completely self destructing. Now that’s a living wage, the average family of four last year earned $43,000 and was in the 28% tax braket.
