The economy is in trouble but it would seem that nobody can figure out just what to do and why we should do it. The administration is just swatting flies so every time something new rears its ugly head they try another multi-billion dollar band aide. Meanwhile, we are all bombarded by daily economic media with statistical data about everything from declining dollar values to consumer demand for ancient Chinese health remedies. I have sat and listened to the economic shows for an hour or more and then reflected on what I learned and what would be the next smart move – but came away no more informed than when the show began.

These money shows are like listening to a full hour show on what yesterdays weather report was – who cares and what’s the good of it. Talk radio is not much better. Again they are only spectators sitting on the sideline calling the umpire blind, or haranguing against the devils on the other side of every issue. But I don’t hear any real honest analysis of our present quagmire and a thoughtful answer to what is wrong and how do we fix it. I guess I am just tired of a million dollar a year talking head complaining about a million dollar a year AIG executive while the foreclosure rate increases for residential and commercial real estate, the jobless rate climbs, and America staggers like a drunken man walking towards the ATM machine!
