Should our economic prosperity be considered part of our national defense? Should we be solvent enough to pay our soldiers and equip them with all that they need to perform at the highest level possible? The reason the old Soviet Union fell is because their defense spending bankrupted them. I don’t know why the same can’t happen to the US if we continue to spend ourselves into oblivion, and are unable to support out troops. “To provide for the National Defense” is one of the major reasons given in the Constitution for establishing our Federal Government. England would have lost WWII if America did not give her the Lend-Lease program; Britain would have gone broke and lost the means to defend herself against Nazi aggression. It’s time to get serious about defending America and American jobs from foreign governments.
