In the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence our Founding Fathers recognized as “self evident,” that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” If these rights are infused by our Creator than the Creator will uphold and protect these rights as long as we uphold our belief and dedication to our Creator God.
History has amply demonstrated that when a people scoff at God, dishonor God, and cast God out of their lives and out of the public discourse that He will gracefully leave, but will take His blessings with Him. So when Ancient Israel alienated themselves from God they were cast out of the promised land and deported to Babylon. The Holy Roman Empire dissolved into chaos when the Church was more interested in power and politics rather than the Gospel of God.
The loss of freedom continued into the middle ages when the Church resisted reform and persecuted anyone who resisted their political might. The eastern half of the old roman empire fell under the domination of the Ottoman Turks which enforced the religious Sharia law; a harsh system of religious dictates that especially persecuted women along with most of the rest of the population. Like all evil systems it was used to enslave the people and aggrandize the religious and political hierarchy. Both the religious rule in Europe under the Church and the Sharia law under the Turks were both theocracies and had little interest in individual freedoms for their citizens and even less interest in God. Although the circumstances were different, Asia was downtrodden by ungodly tyrants for centuries as well, even thought the apostles brought Christianity to the Far east.
True political freedom came with the Protestant reformation. Western Europe rejected the political tyranny of the Roman Church and fought to cast off the shackles of the old and put their faith in the God of the Bible rather than the God of Religion. As the individual was recognized as possessing the spark of the Creator within them, people fought for and won their freedoms. Political freedom became vested in the person, and governments were granted authority by a “Social Contract” which required governments to be subjected to the will of the people in whom all power resided.
Likewise Korea is a Christian country and bring the Christian God of Liberty to the people of Asia. It has been reported that there are more Christians in China than in the rest of the world combined.
Through the providence of God this rule of the people, endowed with God given rights, spread throughout the world. Imperialism, after much hardship and struggle, eventually brought democratic forms of government to India, China, Africa, and North and South America. The knowledge that God Created Man to be free was the common denominator upon which modern freedoms are built. By honoring God civilization has prospered beyond all expectations, science has developed, and free economies, under God, have brought the blessings of freedom and prosperity to many people.
Today America and the Western world is allowing the evil ungodly doctrines of the past to infiltrate our society. The all powerful Superstate whose only interest is political power and economic enslavement has again slithered out of the pit. Like ancient Israel we are allowing ourselves to be alienated from the God of inalienable rights, the God of Liberty, the God of Freedom, and the God of morality and virtue. The God who Blessed America, Blessed Protestant Europe, the God who created all Men and women; and the God who is blessing every country who honors him. But evil forces are undermining the solid foundation of our freedoms: our faith in the Creator God.
The Bible asks us “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Prov.11:3. We can, we must, stand up for the God who Blessed us, witness for the God who prospered us, take political arms against the ungodly among us, reject their ungodly policies, condemn their ungodly laws, vehemently contest their ungodly speeches and their ungodly talk. Only then with the Creator God who endowed us with our freedoms return to us and providentially protect the freedoms we hold so dear.
