EDUCATING THE COUNTRY FOR EVERGREEN COLORADO REAL ESTATE PARENTS
EDUCATION NOT A FUNCTION OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
Since the time the Constitution was ratified in 1788 public education was not considered a function of the Federal Government. Education was not listed in Article 1, Section 8 as one of the enumerated powers of the United States government. For over two centuries education was considered a local issue. The public schools were funded by local Real Estate taxes and the state and federal governments had no say in the education of our children.
EDUCATION HISTORICALLY A LOCAL MATTER
Local citizens would come to the local school board meetings and decide the curriculum, fund the school buildings, and often provide for transportation. There is no plausible Constitutional authority for the Federal Government to be meddling in American Education. Even at the height of the civil rights movement the Federal Government could enforce the fourteenth Amendment which affords all equal justice under the law, without getting involved in the daily operations of the education of the children. In short, public education was and should be a local matter.
CRUSHED THE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
Then came the sixteenth Amendment which gave the Federal Government the right to tax the wealth of America away form the individual, the local government, and the state government. This accumulation of the nations income created aN enormous ocean of money that flooded the freedoms and rights of the local citizenry with a tsunami of anti constitutional legislation that crushed the dynamic excellence of the American educational system. In Finland, which is the number one educational system in the world, the schools are funded from kindergarden through university at the local level, just as the American school system was when we were first in education.
THE DECLINE BEGAN
The feds began melding in the education of our children in the mid sixties and the decline in American scholastic excellence began. At first the system seemed to handle the intrusion but proficiency soon got worse and has steadily declined since the 1970s. The history of the U.S. Department of Education is sadly a history of abject failure; it is a vastly incompetent, expensive, ineffective, money hungary bureaucratic septic tank whose only job is to soak up wasted government funds and distribute it across the septic fields of the American Teachers Union. The unions then reinvest the money in political campaign contributions which feed the survival of the whole repulsive system.
HOME SCHOOLING
The only refreshing news is that the crushing failure of the system had spawned the growth of the Home Schooling Movement across America. The home schooling phenomena is a bright ray of hope in this country. Home-schoolers routinely far out score the government students. With their back to basics curriculum, truth in education commitment, spiritual and biblical study, dedication to true American constitutional history, clear teaching of accurate math and science, and the emphasis on a real love for the arts and literature of the world, the home-schooling movement is teaching America again that school is for learning not for politically correct horse dung and progressive indoctrination into cultural immorality.
IT’S A TRAGEDY
It’s a great tragedy the education lobby will not allow American schools to improve, return to local control, or adopt a commitment to an objective unbiased syllabus. The voters in the U.S. Are as dedicated to the status quo as the politicians and the unions. Americans refuse to reestablish constitutional government in the U.S. and so our children are doomed to wallow in the foul mire of progressive educational depravity.
